What is SEO?
Simply put, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) refers to the process of optimizing the website in order to increase organic traffic.

It is possible to identify 2 SEO tactics:

SEO on-page
It refers to the optimization of web pages so that they adapt to search engine positioning factors. For this, it is important to ensure that the website has relevant content and that its sructure is designed to ensure a good user experience.
But how does SEO on-page works? DIWA has collected some examples of essential actions to consider:

1. Use relevant keywords
Choosing keywords is crucial when you are working on your website's SEO. It is important that you define which keywords best define your website content and then apply them strategically throughout your website. It will be through them that the search engines will know what your website is about and, therefore, it will be through them they will know whether or not your website is relevant to be ranked in the search results.

2. Create and improve Meta Descriptions
Meta Descriptions refer to the short description that is next to your website when it appears in search results and provides information about the content of the page.

3. Title Tags optimization
Title Tags provide whoever views the page in search engine results with information about the content of the page. For that reason, it is important that these have relevant keywords in order to encourage more clicks and generate more traffic.

4. Add and optimize images
Including images on your website can increade the reach of the page as search engines also look for visual elements (such as Google Images). However, it is necessary to pay attention to its optimization, namely to the loading time, the creation of alt-tags that allows Google to understand the image content and the correct choice of the image name.

SEO off-page
It refers to the the optimization that is done outside of the website in order to improve rankings on search engines. This effort is usually reflected through actions such as Link building (when other pages links to your website) and presence on social media in order to generate more traffic to the website.

How it works

Search engines use algorithms to find web pages and decide which ones to rank for a particular keyword. This is a process that can be divided into 3 steps: Crawling, Indexing and Ranking

1. Crawling
The purpose of this process is not only to discover new pages, but also to periodically check the content of already visited pages for changes or updates.

2. Indexing
Indexding refers to the process of deciding on the use (or non-use) of the content found. If a page is considered valid, it will be indexed.

3. Ranking
Ranking can only take place when the previous steps are completed.
